Goblins by Alessandro Vegna

This deck was made by Alessandro Vegna and finished in the top 8 at Grand Prix 2003 in Geneva. It blitzed through the opposition through sheer brute force and capped the onslaught with a pile driver... a Goblin Piledriver. Talk about wrestling finishing maneuvers. Well if that's not enough, look at the sideboard and you could find more artillery to blow your opponent sky high!

The deck is basically a goblin deck with a lot of firepower on the sideboard. The basic premise here is to overrun opponents with your goblins and burn him using the Gempalm Incinerator and the Goblin Sharpshooter. A nice touch is the addition of a big hasted creature in Rorix. It is a good finisher as well as an unexpected one.

Everybody Has a Price

Well I'm sure longtime wrestling fans would remember this man. He was one of the greatest heels of all time. He was the Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase. Part of the gimmick was to make people do things in exchnage for money. He asked a kid to dribble a basketball for money. He also asked a pool manager to close down the pool so he could enjoy it by himself. Ted Dibiase has been a part of major angles such as forming his Corporation with the likes of Steve Austin, Ken Shamrock and The Big Boss Man. He also was the fourth nWo member. He was "funding" the group as Trillionaire Ted. The world of Magic the Gathering is no different for Ted as he has bought the services of Dominaria's most expensive cards.

The Black Lotus fetches about $3000 to $4000 in the market. By far the most expensive card in Magic the Gathering? Why is it so expensive? Well let's just say that with the right cards you could win in as early as turn one. Any questions?

Well Trillionaire Ted isn't going cheap on the moxes either. He went for the most expensive one in the Mox Sapphire. This little baby is worth about $1000.

This little gem is worth $700 a pop. At a rate of $7 per hour, this card is worth 100 hours of work for most people but it would only take Trillionaire Ted 7 seconds to buy this baby off ebay.

Another $1000 card for Ted's collection. To many people $1000 is their per capita income in a year but its just chump change for Trillionaire Ted.

When you spend money like water the way Trillionaire Ted does, another $1000 card is just like buying chewing gum for him. Heck his Magic binder may be worth $1,000,000 and have Magic fans drooling and he won't care. Why does Trillionaire Ted do this? Because he can.

Doraemon: The Gathering

We know Doraemon as the futuristic robotic cat from the 22nd century. He has a 4th dimensional pocket where he could pull out gadgets and trinkets of all kinds to bail Nobita out. What if he was a Magic the Gathering card?

First of all since Doraemon quickly heals after being beaten up or injured, he gets indestructability. He also has the ability to search for artifacts in your library in the same way he searches gadgets in the cartoon. Doraemon is also imbued with the ability to summon his mini-me's the Minidoras. Given the proper mana he can churn out a horde of these little critters.

The card design was a combination of the modern metallic artifact card look and the throwback black rarity symbol. Back in the day before Exodus came out, all cards had black expansion symbols regardless of rarity. This card is definitely a rare though.

Spotlight on the Chameleon Colossus

Fee Fi Fo Fum. I smell the blood of an Englishman! The Chameleon Colossus is already cheap at 4/4 for four mana. Add to that protection from black and pumpability. Imagine paying four mana to turn the colossus to 8/8 and four more to 16/16. Thats one big ass shapeshifter. This card by the way had a playtesting nickname which was "the doubler." Double the damage and double the fun. Double the pain and agony though for your opponent. Speaking of which, being a changeling enables it to get bonuses accorded to all creature types. As if this creature can't get bigger. Its like the Incredible Hulk of Dominaria. Chameleon Colossus Smash!

Fireball / Fork Combo

Fireball is a fun card. You could use it to obliterate a single target say your opponent or an unlucky critter. You could also choose to spread the love by hitting multiple targets in a single blow. Fork doubles the fun and excitement by doubling the effect. Double the pain. Double the damage. Double the destruction!
